Google maps accurately navigates people to Bamff (Enter Bamff Ecotourism).

If you are planning a trip to Scotland, from another country, Bamff is easy to reach, and a central place for visiting ancient castles, highland landscapes, famous distilleries or fascinating nature reserves. (Apart from being a wonderful destination in itself). There are 3 airports within 2 hours’ drive, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Edinburgh is the closest.

(Arriving by public transport from many locations in the UK is also possible and convenient – see “sustainable travel” above)

Using your Maps application of choice, you can easily find the best route to drive or best public transport options.  Google will find us as “Bamff Ecotourism”.  Some GPS systems will take you past the front drive to the back drive. When you see the sign that says Bamff, on the right, around 3 miles out of Alyth, (just beyond a junction to Glenshee) take this farm road even if the device tells you not to. The track is a little rough in places but a 4 x 4 is not needed.  A sign  tells you the distances to the various properties.    You can park next to or near your accommodation.  Our cottages and cabins all have parking spaces.

From Alyth to Bamff

Follow the Bamff Road, signposted for Glenshee and Bridge of Cally for 2.5 miles.

After a sharp left hand bend, signed Glenshee, Bridge of Cally, (Glenisla is to the right) you will see the lodge at the end of the drive to Bamff . Turn off the road (to the right) and up the drive – about two thirds of a mile.

Follow the second sign ‘Old Brewhouse’ at the junction as you approach the house.

If you miss the drive, there is a farm road one mile further on, on the right. Go right at the partially ruined steading and you will arrive at the back of the house. The Old Brewhouse is on the left and you may drive in and  park next to it.  Our back door is on the right. Ring the (single) doorbell if no-one is there to greet you.

From the North

You may approach by the Tullymurdoch/Alyth road from the A93, or from the west from Bridge of Cally take the Drimmie Road. If you are approaching from Bridge of Cally go left at a sign for Bamff, then after Mains of Creuchies go right (for Alyth).  You will see the Bamff farm road to your left after a few yards.  Carry on for another half mile and take the next left, a sharp bend, marked Bamff.
