REWILDING AT BAMFF

Welcome to Bamff Wildland – where for over 30 years, we’ve been stepping back and letting nature take the lead.

What was once conventional farmland is now a thriving, dynamic sanctuary. Wander through the primordial beauty of our beaver wetlands, listen to the hum of life across meadows rich with wildflowers, and spot our free-roaming herds of Exmoor ponies, Tamworth pigs, and cattle restoring the soil as they roam.

From fluttering butterflies and elusive moths to ospreys overhead and a booming blanket of young native forest, life has returned here in full force.

Our Journey So Far

  • 1990s | The Spark: We swapped intensive farming for organic roots and kicked off our very first wetland regeneration projects.
  • 2000s | The Engineers Arrive: We brought beavers back to Bamff – making history with the first reintroduction project of its kind in Scotland.
  • 2010s | Hills Reborn: Large-scale reforestation took off, planting native trees across the Bamff hills to bring back Scotland’s ancient woodland canopy.
  • 2020s | The Wildland Era: We officially launched the Bamff Wildland project, creating a contiguous space for nature to thrive completely unhindered.
